Carolyn Guertin is a member of the faculties of the Writing and New Media Program at Athabasca University in Canada and of Transart Institute’s international low residency MFA program in Berlin, Germany. For five years, she served as Director of the eCreate Lab at UT Arlington. She is curator of the celebrated collection Assemblage: The Online Women’s New Media Gallery out of the U.K., and was Senior McLuhan Fellow at the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology at the University of Toronto from 2004-06. Her most recent book, Digital Prohibition: Piracy and Authorship in New Media Art, explores the politics of creativity and new artistic forms in digital culture.
