bak.ma

bak.ma is a participatory video archiving site seeking to create a living memory of the social movements. Created to host and share visual records taken during the Gezi Park protests in Turkey by the Videoccupy video collective, founded during the resistance by people with different experiences and backgrounds. Even though the Videoccupy was disbanded after the resistance ended, the bak.ma and Gezi archive were launched on an online platform in 2014. Since 2015, bak.ma activists have continued to expand the platform by gathering various other visual archives of collectives, unions as well as individuals.
