Born 1928 in Zagreb. Died 1999 in Zagreb. Graduated in 1952 in English and Russian from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb (Ph.D. in 1965 on mechanical translation). 1954–1965 assistant in the department of English studies, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, 1965–1971 senior lecturer, 1971–1974 associate professor, from 1974 professor at the University of Zagreb.
