Born 1969 in Zlaté Moravce. At the end of 80s he graduated at the Academy of Applied Arts in Bratislava. In this period he achieved a certain notoriety as lead singer of the Slovak punk band Kosa z Nosa. After excursions into the local media world as a columnist and a television journalist for the music programme More, Ondreička is now one of the key figures of the young Slovak art scene. An artist with an interdisciplinary past, Boris Ondreička in his role as director of Tranzit.sk has encouraged since 2002 activities such as symposia, lectures, exhibitions, happenings and concerts that traverse national borders. As a member of the expert team within the Slovak Ministry of Culture he has also recently begun to promote the concerns of art and culture on a political level.
