Born 1957 in Bonn. 1984 co-founder of the Videonale Bonn. Numerous projects, exhibitions and symposia in the field of media art. 1991–1993 head of the Mediatheque at the ZKM, Karlsruhe. Since 1993 professor for Art History and Media Theory at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig. Publications on art of the 20th century a. o. on Fluxus, George Brecht, Marcel Duchamp. Co-editor of «Media Art Action» and «Media Art Interaction» (with Rudolf Frieling). Recent book publications «Kunst als Sendung» (2002) and «Vom Ready-Made zum Cyberspace» (2003). Since 2001 co-editor of Media Art Net. Lives and works in Leipzig.
