Jan-Kees van Kampen (NL, 1975), studied computer composition at the Art, Media and Technology faculty of the Art School of [[Utrecht]],, and ArtScience at the Royal Conservatorium and Art School in Den Haag. He is active as a media artist / performer, and freelance composer. In 2015 his work took a sculpltural turn with the materialisation of signals. In particular he aims to apply a variety of signals (sound waves as well as computer processes and signals from the human body) in order to modulate water and light. He's a member of [[goto10]], Powerbooks Unplugged (a network music band), and the Schreck Ensemble (for electro acoustic music). Besides maintaining his own practice he also works for the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, and the Robert Schumann Hochschule (IMM) in Duesseldorf.
