Kata Mach (b. Katarína Morháčová, 1986 – 2018) was an artist. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, first at the Department of Painting and Other Media with Daniel Fischer and later at the Department of Intermedia with Ilona Németh. In 2008 she studied at the Haute Ecole d'art et de design in Geneva, Switzerland. She was interested in the impact of complex, interconnected systems of oppression (capitalism, patriarchy, physical and mental normativity, etc.) on both the individual and society. Later she became more inclined towards performance and working with her own body, which for her became the representative symbol and object of the various forms of constant failure in these systems.
