Lioudmila Voropai is a curator, art critic and media artist. She studied Philosophy at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) in Moscow and New Media Art at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne. Her curatorial and artistic projects are mainly focused on the institutional critique related issues and fake as an artistic strategy. As an art critic she contributes to XZ Moscow Art Magazine, Art Issue, Logos and other periodicals.

She is also a translator and co-editor of the Russian editions of Slavoj Zizek, Giorgio Agamben, Jürgen Habermas and other authors. Lioudmila Voropai (1975, Balakleja, Ukraine, Soviet Union) is an art historian, critic and curator. She is Interim Professor for Art Research and Media Theory at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Karlsruhe.

She studied philosophy, art history, media studies and media art in Moscow, Cologne and Berlin. In addition to her work as a freelance curator, art critic and artist, she received her doctorate in 2013 at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne on the subject of "Institutionalization of Media Art: Sociological Perspective and Cultural Aspects of the Differentiation of New Media Art Forms".
