Lioudmila Voropai is a curator, art critic and media artist. She studied Philosophy at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) in Moscow and New Media Art at the Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne. Her curatorial and artistic projects are mainly focused on the institutional critique related issues and fake as an artistic strategy. As an art critic she contributes to XZ Moscow Art Magazine, Art Issue, Logos and other periodicals.

Lioudmila Voropai (1975, Balakleja, Ukraine, Soviet Union) is an art historian, critic and curator. She is a research assistant at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Karlsruhe. She studied philosophy at Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU) in Moscow (1992-97), and art history and media studies at Academy of Media Arts (KHM) in Cologne (2000-04). Her research interests lie in the theory of art and media, political aesthetics, critical theory, sociology of art and criticism of the institute.

She is also a translator and editor of Russian translations of Jürgen Habermas (Legitimationsprobleme im Spätkapitalismus), Slavoj Zizek (Parallax View), Giorgio Agamben (Ausnahmezustand), Michael Walzer (The Company of Critics) and others.

She holds a PhD for her dissertation "The Institutionalisation of Media Art" from the KHM in Cologne.
