| − | Born 1971 in Bratislava. In 1992 she graduated Cultural Studies at the Comenius University in [[Bratislava]] and joined the Soros Center for Contemporary Art as programme coordinator. As the director, she left SCCA in [[1999]]. In 2002 she co-curated Manifesta 3 in [[Ljubljana]]. Hlavajová is faculty member of the Center for Cultural Studies at Bard College in New York and writes for art magazines such as [[Ateliér]] (CZ), [[Profil]] (SK) and Kalligram (SK/HU). As director of the [[BAK]] (Basis voor actuele Kunst) in [[Utrecht]] she now commutes between [[Bratislava]], [[Amsterdam]] and [[Utrecht]]. Together with [[Kathrin Rohmberg]] Mária Hlavajová has been a director of the project [[Tranzit]] since September [[2002]].
