Morgan Currie

Since 2010 has conducted research at the University of Amsterdam and the Institute of Network Cultures, focusing on the economics of the digital commons and shifting practices in publishing and archiving. For INC she co-produced two international conferences (Economies of the Commons 2, 2010, and the Unbound Book, 2011), where she chaired panels exploring the concept of ‘open’ and specifically how digital cultures promoting ideologies of openness have influenced video production and publishing. She has edited books and anthologies on new media topics and is a co-founder and editor of the new Amsterdam-based open access journal Query: Journal of Critical Internet Studies. She is currently a PhD candidate at UCLA’s School of Information.
