Ovidiu Ţichindeleanu (born 1976) is philosopher and cultural theorist; he lives and works in Chişinău and New York. He studied Philosophy in Cluj (Babes-Bolyai University), Strasbourg (Marc Bloch University) and Binghamton (State University of New York). His Ph.D. thesis The Graphic Sound. An Archeology of Sound, Technology and Knowledge from 1900 to 2008 is currently prepared for publication. Co-founder of the independent journal Philosophy&Stuff (1997-2001), Romanian Indymedia platform in 2004 and member of several autonomous and popular education collectives. Furthermore, he is a co-editor of The Anticommunist Illusion (Chişinău: Cartier 2008) and Romanian Revolution Televised. Currently, editor of the journal IDEA arts + society and collection coordinator of the publishing house Idea Design & Print. He participated in the 51st Venice Biennale (2005), Documenta 12 (2007), U-Turn (Copenhagen 2008).
