Born 1973, studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna and is a media artist and performer with a main research and work focus on the alliances of art and activism. He has realised several cross-media projects, e.g., “Under the Bridge Beograd”, “serious pop”, “camp” or “SLUM-TV”, the latter with Lukas Pusch and Sam Hopkins. Since 2010 Alexander Nikolic has been operating the workers club Boem in Vienna together with Martin Hollerweger and Michael Kalivoda, where he organises events in which political and artistic concerns overlap. In 2010 he also organised the action “Bed and Breakfast”, commissioned by the Wiener Festwochen, accommodating festival visitors with ex-Yugoslav families in Vienna for a day.
