Andrew Famiglietti is a Brittain Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His dissertation: Hackers, Cyborgs, and Wikipedians, explores how the political economy of Wikipedia shaped by the embodiment of Wikipedia users, and how this political economy in turn shapes Wikipedia's broader political and cultural impact. He has presented his work at the Association of Internet Researchers conference, and more recently at the Institute for Network Cultures Critical Point of View conference. His classes at Tech have focused on using New Media, including Wiki, to engage students in an ongoing process of writing, revision, and multi-modal composition. Beyond Wikipedia, his long term research interests include Cultural Studies, New Media, Science and Technology Studies, and Science Fiction.
