Ann-Elise Pettersen Hyndøy

Ann-Elise Pettersen Hyndøy (22 January 1948, Måsøy, Finnmark, Norway - 4 March 2013, Oslo) was a Norwegian artist. She moved to Oslo in 1967 and studied classical archeology. In the early 1980s she worked as an artist model at the National Academy of Arts in Oslo and for artists privately. She went on to study theology and science at the University of Oslo. She gained experience with film through her work as a film photographer and editor at Norwegian Television (NRK, 1983-1988) and began working as an artist professionally. Pettersen Hyndøy was the driving force behind the Media Workshop [Medieverkstedet] at Blindern (University of Oslo campus) which broadcasts programs over cable network. In 1985, she showed her work at the Frogner Gallery [Frognergalleriet] in Oslo. Afterwards, she began collaborating with Einar Hyndøy who also had television background and worked at NRK. Together they produced video, films and installations. They exhibited at the Wang Kunsthandel (1987), the Trøndelags exhibition, the Autumn exhibition and at the Melhuus gallery in Oslo (1987). [1]
