Bettina Ellerkamp
Bettina Ellerkamp (1966) has lived in Berlin since 1985. 1985-91 she studied journalism and film at the Free University of Berlin. Since 1986 she works with film and video.
1990-95 she co-founded the interdisciplinary art and cultural association Botschaft e.V. with its own venue, Ihr Friseur (1991-95). Media art work in the artist group, conception and realization of film and video events, exhibitions, publications and parties. Participation in national and international exhibitions, festivals and events.
From 1991-2000 co-founder of the group of authors and video production company dogfilm GmbH together with Jörg Heitmann, Merle Kröger, Philip Scheffner and Ed van Megen. Development and production of documentaries, experimental feature films, essays and video art in cooperation with Kanal 4, ZDF – Das kleine Fernsehspiel, ARTE and 3Sat.
2000- Foundation of the production company home productions GmbH. Development and realization of various projects at the interface between documentary storytelling and visual arts.
She worked as an artistic assistant in the directing course and as part of a women’s research project at the Konrad Wolf University of Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 2001-2007, studied Shiatsu practitioner at the Zen Shiatsu School in Berlin from 2007-2011 and functioned as co-founder, co-director, lecturer and mentor of the PMMC Professional Media Master Class for Documentary of the Werkleitz Gesellschaft, Halle (Saale) from 2011-2020.
In 2013, together with Jörg Heitmann, she founded the silent green Kulturquartier, an event and exhibition space and protected space for thinking, research and experimentation with a focus on film and music. (2025)
