Grzegorz Zgraja
Grzegorz G. Zgraja (15 April 1952, Gliwice) studied fine arts and graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, after which he studied experimental film and video at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig, where he worked until 2017. He has been working with video art since the mid-1970s. In his works, he combines image and music, aesthetic and technological concepts, overcoming the boundaries between different art genres. In Zgraja's work, the graphic image can be interpreted with the help of music. His works include video installations, which are very often presented as media-musical - together with musicians. Grzegorz Zgraja has exhibited in Poland, Germany, Brazil, China, Thailand and the USA. He is a co-founder of the artist group Laboratory of Presentation Techniques. His works can be found in museums and collections, including the National Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom and the Foundation for Silesia in Katowice, as well as in other collections.
