Guy Schraenen (5 May 1941, London - 9 November 2018, Paris) was a curator, publisher and advisor and founder of the publishing house Guy Schraenen éditeur. His activities were mainly focused on artists' publications of the various international avant-garde and independent art movements from the late 1950s until the 1980s. Schraenen founded the Galerie Kontakt in Antwerp (1965-78), the Archive for Small Press & Communication (A.S.P.C., together with Anne Marsily, 1974, now held by the Research Center for Artists' Publications in Bremen, Germany), and the artists' publication collection A Museum within a Museum in the Neues Museum Weserburg Bremen (1989). For many years Schraenen was responsible for the collections and exhibitions of artists’ publications in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Fundação de Serralves in Porto, the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana (MGLC) and other institutions. He is an author of essays and various publications.
