Jo Ana Morfin
Jo Ana Morfin Guerrero (Mexico) is a curator and time-based media conservator. She is a graduate of the National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museography, ENCRYM-INAH. She holds an MA in Curatorial Studies from the University of Sunderland and a PhD from the University of Bristol in the UK with the thesis Unstable Documents: Archiving and Conservation Practices which addresses the issues of shaping, accessing and distributing technology-dependent contemporary artworks. She currently collaborates with the Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliográficas of the UNAM, specialising in the digital preservation of archives with a GLAM perspective (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums). Through a combination of theoretical and methodological approaches in the areas of Performance Studies and Variable Media Art Preservation, Morfin's research focuses on digital preservation, performativity, digital curation and technological obsolescence.
