MARS

Media Arts and Research Studies division of the Fraunhofer Institut Medienkommunikation Bonn, founded by Monika Fleischmann (head) and Wolfgang Strauss in 1997.

Focuses on the generation of artistic strategies for the development of media technologies and the productive employment of media technological research in the arts and related fields. The MARS Lab is organized in interdisciplinary teams of architects, artists, designers, IT- experts, art history and media scholars who develop the artistic tools, explore the problems of the networked society and develop future models of networked knowledge and communication spaces.
