Mara Goldwyn studied accessories design and millinery at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York, with the help of the Mike Alesko Design Scholarship. She also has studied fashion design (draping, pattern making, sewing and illustration), screen printing, oil painting and black & white photography at Parsons School of Design, The Manhattan Graphics Center, The New School, and The School of Visual Arts. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Cornell University.

As DJ Seeks Same, she has been producing the Jetlag Archipelago experimental radio show/trash-ollage for Reboot.fm since 2010 and for Radio 23/Room 111 since 2008. She also produces (writing, singing, keyboard, samples) and records lo-fi suicide pop as the one-woman band Seeks Same. Her self-released debut album is called Carnivorous Lethargy (2008). She is also part of So Far Channel.

As a creative writer and arts journalist, she co-edited and published The Extra Room literary magazine, has just completed an illustrated experimental novella entitled The Real World, curates the blog Fashion Trashology and The Night Library and contributes regularly to ArtSlant, Whitehot and Sleek. She lives in Berlin.
