Margarida Mendes runs the project space The Barber Shop in Lisbon, where she holds a program of seminars, screenings and performative events since 2009. She has a Masters in Aural and Visual Culture by the Goldsmiths College of Arts in London, with a research on cybernetics, geophilosophy, occultism and experimental film. Selected curatorial projects: Vanishing Point by André Sousa, KIM? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga; White Hole, Supernova Gallery, Riga; Estados Gerais cycle of exhibitions and seminars, Lisbon; Substance, Spike Island Centre of Contemporary Art, Bristol. In 2009 she took part in the European Course of Contemporary Art Curators of the Antonio Ratti Foundation in Milan.
