Marika Kuźmicz

Marika Kuźmicz is an art historian, curator, and lecturer. She is the dean of the Faculty of Artistic Research and Curatorial Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and lecturer at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. As part of the Susch Institute founded by Grażyna Kulczyk, she conducts long-term research into the work of women artists from Central and Eastern Europe. She is also the curator of the Susch Museum. President of the Arton Foundation (since 2011), an organisation dedicated to the compilation of artists' archives.

Marika Kuźmicz is the author and editor of books such as The Workshop of The Film Form (2016, co-edited with Łukasz Ronduda) and History of Performance in Poland (2019). Curator of exhibitions in Poland and abroad, recently: Her Own Way – Female Artists and the Moving Image in Art in Poland, Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. She is as well the curator of the film festival Arton Review which took place at the Whitechapel Gallery in London (2017), KUMU Art Museum in Tallin (2018), Contemporary Art Museum in Zagreb (2019), Oberhausen (International Short Films Festival, 2020) and Anthology Film Archives NYC (2021). She is the originator and coordinator of the international art project Forgotten Heritage – European Avant-Garde Art Online (2016-2018) and “Not Yet Written Stories: Women Artists Archives Online” (2019-2022), both supported by Creative Europe Program.
