Neal Cahoon is a researcher and practitioner working across the fields of poetics, listening, publishing, and curatorial practice. He holds a PhD from the University of Roehampton in London and is currently a researcher at the University of Oulu in Finland. He was previously co-curator of LIAF 2019 and The Kelp Congress together with Hilde Methi, Karolin Tampere, and Torill Østby Haaland. From 2020 to 2023, he served as Artistic Director at Pikene på Broen in Kirkenes, where he led three editions of the Barents Spektakel festival, the BAR International residency program, and initiated the project “det gode liv” in 2021, which concluded with an exhibition for the Arctic Arts Festival in 2023.
