Varia is a space for developing collective approaches to everyday technology located in Rotterdam. Varia favours, without idealising, Free / Libre and Open Source Software, free culture, open standards, lowtech and DIY/DIWO culture, because they offer the opportunity to shape a different present and leave the door open for desirable futures. Currently Varia is operated by 16 members: designers, researchers, artists, activists and programmers.
