International festival for film, video and new media is held in Lucerne since 1982. Moved to Basel in 1999. Organisational problems (which led to the withdrawal of important sponsors), increasing criticism and the unability to attract an international audience, led the festival into a critical situation. The 25th edition in March 2006 marked the end of the festival (announced for November 2005, it had to be postponed by 6 months).
