Michael Kurtov (Михаил Алексеевич Куртов, 1983, Tomsk) is a media theorist and philosopher. He graduated from the Department of Journalism and completed the post-graduate course in St. Petersburg Philosophy Department (SPSU). PhD in Philosophy (SPSU, 2011). He worked as the editor-in-chief of Symposium Publishing house (2009-2010), as a lecturer in the Department of Cultural Science, SPSU (2011-2013), as an Assistant Professor of the Department of Humanities in the Institute of Film and Television (2013-2015). His works were published in the journals New Literary Observer, Logos, Moscow Art Magazine, and others. Author of the books Между скукой и грезой. Аналитика киноопыта [Between Boredom and Illusion: Analysis of Cinematic Experience] (2012), and Генезис графического пользовательского интерфейса. К теологии кода [Genesis of the Graphic User Interface: Towards a Theology of Code] (2014). Laureate of the Andrei Bely Prize (2016). (2019)
