Verena Kuni is a scholar in art theory and history, cultural and media studies and professor for visual culture at Goethe University Frankfurt (Main). Since 1996 she has been researching and teaching at universities and art academies in Germany and beyond, including numerous teaching assignments, guest lecture- and professorships, as well as lectures, talks, workshops and panels at international conferences and other events. She has studied art history, literature and media studies as well as psychology (focus on perception and cognitive science) at Philipps-University Marburg and at the University of Hamburg. Master of Arts (Magister Artium) in 1992 with a master thesis on surrealism and hermetism (focussing on the french-rumanian artist Victor Brauner). Ph. D. thesis (Phil.
