Alexander Acosta Osorio

Artist born in Bogotá, Colombia. Alexander is a visual artist who works primarily with digital multimedia in the forms of digital photography, video, interventions, online publications and exhibitions.


Alexander graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication from the American University in Bulgaria and Fine Arts from LaGuardia Community College at The City University of New York. He has had internships at PS1 Moma Contemporary Art Center and had further apprenticeship training in art handling and installation at Katharina Rich Perlow Gallery and Thomas & Associates, where he's done installation work for several high-end exhibitors such as PHILLIPS auction house, The Armory Show New York, Anna Tzarev Gallery 5th Ave, Art Basel New YorkFrith Street Gallery London|New York.


Between 2003 and 2009 in New York City Alexander was exposed to a wealth of art influences from some of the most recognized artists of our time that helped him develop a range of work that led to his current focus on photography.

In his images Alexander explores the relationships of his subjects with their immediate surroundings. He is interested in how these relationships change the way we perceive ourselves and how they change the way we look at things.


In 2009 Alexander moved to Bulgaria to continue with his university studies. This would be the starting point of a new phase in his photography exploration that continues to this day:
