The Last Futurist Exhibition of Paintings 0,10 [Последняя футуристическая выставка картин 0,10 (ноль–десять)] took place from 19 December 1915 to 17 January 1916 at the Dobychina Gallery at Marsovo Pole, Petrograd.
Contents
The exhibition presented new modes of abstraction—including the display of Suprematist works by Kazimir Malevich and counter reliefs by Vladimir Tatlin. Organized by Ivan Puni, Tatlin and Malevich were at the head of opposing factions - both radical and innovative - and thus the exhibition was divided into two separate sections. The title 0.10 refers to the intended goal of the exhibition to present ten artists seeking the essential core the —"zero"—of painting. In the end, fourteen artists exhibited but the title remained the same.
Exhibiting artists: Kazimir Malevich, Vladimir Tatlin, Ivan Puni, Liubov Popova, Ivan Kliun, Ksenia Boguslavskaya, Olga Rozanova, Nadezhda Udaltsova, Nathan Altman, Vasily Kamensky, Vera Pestel, Maria Ivanovna Vasilieva, Anna Michailovna Kirillova, Mikhail Menkov.
Several publications were printed for the occasion: the catalogue of the entire exhibition, an illustrated booklet of Tatlin's reliefs and counter-reliefs, a one page statement by Puni and Boguslavskaia, short statements all on one page by Malevich, Kliun and Menkov, and Malevich's manifesto From Cubism to Suprematism: The New Painterly Realism [Ot kubizma k suprematizmu. Novyi zhivopisnyi realizm].
