Maria Karagianni is an artist based in [[Paris]]. Born 1979 in [[Athens]]. She studied photography and graphic arts at the Fine Arts School of Athens and holds an MA in media design from the [[Networked Media Piet Zwart Institute Rotterdam|Piet Zwart Institute]] in Rotterdam (2008). She creates software and hardware tools for interactive performances using and connecting different elements including graphics, light, and sound. She also works as a freelance web designer. Maria has collaborated with choreographer [[Thomas Körtvélyessy]] and composer [[Sjoerd Leijten]] for projects reflecting authorship and open/closed structures in dance composition.
