Digital signal processing and sound performances

Sound artists got interested in DSP from a variety of backgrounds: serious music composing (Burlas, Matej, Piaček, Žoffaj), industrial music fan (Bittner, Tóth), punk & DIY (Potočný, Lichý, Kordík, Šubrtová), garsonka folk (Kladivo, Burgr), theatre performances (Murin, Burgr, Vlk).

Techniques include

  • electronics (Rbnx [self-made], Urbanfailure, Jamka)
  • software-based DSP using Reaktor (Poo), Abbleton (Oliver Irsai, Vlk), Max/MSP (Martin Vysoký, Zoffaj, Kordik, Kladivo, Pink Big Pig), and in combination with accoustic instruments (Martin Vysoký, Pink Big Pig)
  • live electronics (Matej)

Rbnx (Tobiáš Potočný). Self-made electronics, electric signal manipulations. Often with Urbanfailure. Part of Urbsounds.

Jamka (Monika Šubrtová and Daniel Kordík). Electronics (samplers, drummachine), software DSP (Max). Deconstructing beats into inbetweens ('jamkas'). Part of Urbsounds.
