Cercle et Carré [Circle and Square] was a group of abstract artists in Paris, founded in Spring 1929 by painter Joaquín Torres-García and cartoonist, poet and art critic Michel Seuphor. The group published a journal with the same name in 3 issues. From 18 April-1 May 1930 they organised a renowned exhibition in Paris showing 130 abstract works by various artists.

The exhibition in Galerie 23 at Rue La Boétie included works by Hans Arp, Willi Baumeister, Ingebörg Bjarnason, Carl Buchheister, Marcelle Cahn, Francisca Clausen, Jaime A. Colson, Germán Cueto, Serge Charchoune, Pierre Daura, Aleksandra Ekster, Fillia, François Foltyn, Jean Gorin, Wanda Chodasiewicz-Grabowska, Huib Hoste, Vilmos Huszár, Vera Idelson, Wassily Kandinsky, Luc Lafnet, Le Corbusier, Fernand Léger, Oscar Luethy, Piet Mondrian, Stefan Moszczynski, Erik Olson, Amédée Ozenfant, Antoine Pevsner, Enrico Prampolini, Luigi Russolo, Alberto Sartoris, Kurt Schwitters, Henryk Stażewski, Nechama Szmuszkowicz, Stella, Hans Suschny, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Joaquín Torres-García, Vordemberge-Gildewart, Adya Van Rees, Otto Van Rees, Georges Vantongerloo, Hans Welti, H.N. Cercle et Carré was absorbed by Abstraction-création when the latter was founded in 1933, but from 1936 Torres García continued the publication in Montevideo in his native Uruguay with the title Círculo y Cuadrado: revista de la Asociación de Arte Constructivo. Ten numbers were issued between May 1936 and December 1943 and included letters and articles in Spanish and French from international artists including Helion, Piet Mondrian and Umberto Boccioni.
