Práce popisuje hackerské příběhy a legendy, které se objevily ve vybraných médiích v České a Slovenské republice v letech 1989 – 2009. Přináší obraz doby, ve které se příběhy odehrály a kontext, který toto dění ovlivnil. Pomocí analýzy diskurzu popisuje změnu vnímání hackerů médii a zprostředkovaně veřejností. Všímá si posunu významu od původního označení hackera jako počítačového odborníka k novému pojetí, spojenému s nelegální činností a kriminalitou.

Nick Srnicek: Assemblage Theory, Complexity and Contentious Politics. The Political Ontology of Gilles Deleuze (2007)

The purpose of this thesis is to reconsider the nature of ontology in contemporary political science, with the belief that such a move can be of great benefit to understanding changes in our era of globalization and terrorism. This is accomplished by examining the ontologies of both social constructivism and critical realism in order to show their reliance upon illegitimate presuppositions, and then developing a novel ontological position on the basis of these criticisms.
Gilles Deleuze’s concept of assemblages – and his ontology, more generally – are examined as particularly powerful ways to conceptualize the complexity, dynamism and differences that are inherent to the political world. This is brought out concretely in a study of recent academic work on contentious politics in order to show the centrality of conflict and difference to politics, and to show the power of a reconceptualization of ontology.

Otto von Busch: Fashion-able: Hacktivism and Engaged Fashion Design (2008)

The thesis Fashion-able consists of a series of extensive projects which aims to explore a new designer role for fashion. It is a role that experiment with how fashion can be reverse engineered, hacked, tuned and shared among many participants as a form of social activism. This social design practice can be called the hacktivism of fashion. It is an engaged and collective process of enablement, creative resistance and DIY practice, where a community share methods and experiences on how to expand action spaces and develop new forms of craftsmanship. In this practice, the designer engages participants to reform fashion from a phenomenon of dictations and anxiety to a collective experience of empowerment, in other words, to make them become fashion-able.
